Schitterend
Recently retired Martien (Annet Malherbe) is facing a new phase in her life, but her husband Simon (Gijs Scholten van Aschat) seems to notice her less than ever. Meanwhile, model Jamie (Holly Mae Brood) hopes to make her big breakthrough – although she has to bend over backwards to keep up with the industry's capricious beauty ideals. Jamie's agent Claire (Lies Visschedijk) has trouble letting go of her pubescent daughter Leyla (Bobbie Mulder), who in turn is falling in love for the first time. Young mother Sanne (Caro Lenssen) is looking for a balance between her body, which has had two pregnancies, and a man (Maarten Heijmans) who has no idea of the pressure she puts on herself. She can unburden herself to her best friend Nina (Hannah Hoekstra), who is convinced that men and women are not really equal in love and relationships. But when Baran (Sidar Toksöz), her new colleague at the high school where she teaches, challenges her to think differently, Nina begins to doubt whether he might be right. In a mosaic of different phases of life, dreams and desires, these six women discover that true beauty lies in the imperfection of life and that it is a matter of letting go and daring to just be yourself.
